In The Woods

Our walk in the woods was a feast for the senses today. All the earthy pine scents seem heightened since the rain. I could hear lots of small birds in the treetops, and the occasional wood pigeon. The treetops were blowing in the breeze and making a lovely swooshing sound. The only other sound was my feet on the ground. The ground cover of wildflowers and nettles was looking less wilted, and even the ferns were looking stronger and greener. The sun through the trees was creating lovely light and shade on the ferns.
Weatherwise It has been sunny and bright with blue skies and white clouds, with a slight breeze. Definitely a bit cooler than the weekend although I like the fresher air.
