At Last

After a warm / hot and very sunny 10 weeks with only 1cm of rain, we finally had rain yesterday afternoon and this morning (plus a bit of thunder), so it had to be a raindrop on flowers collage. Just over 3cm of rain fell, which is just right for a start, plus it fell steadily most of the time and was absorbed into the rock hard soil ok. The garden and pond are already looking fresher. I loved the petrichor (smell of the rain). Today due to a planned walk being carried over to tomorrow due to the rain, I've caught up with a lot of jobs that it's been just too hot to do, including a stack of ironing. I emailed Holt Hall regarding the appearance of the cows and they said they'd suspected a cow was on the premises and had tried to contact the Kelling Estate. Hopefully they've either been rounded up or found their way home now.
