The Cactus Popped!

My very small Santa Rita prickly pear cactus popped today in all of it's sunshiny glory. It was a joy to see out the window this morning.

I must enjoy it today - because tonight it will wilt and die. Sadly prickly pear cactus live only one day.

They are quite dufferent than other prickly pears because of their color. Amongst a little green, their pads are purple and lavender. The large cactus are very pretty.
