Fish n Chip top …

….. at last!
The Fish n Chip tops were designed for babies born to poor mothers in South Africa. They were so poor that the newborn babies were wrapped in newspaper to be taken home. The tops were originally knitted in very dark colours.

In this top, the dark blue at the top is the sleeves, and the neck is right at the top.

Our Craft Group is knitting them for the Baby Boxes that are given to newborns in our area. Anything related to a newborn’s life can be put in these boxes.

My top will go in the next pile of knitting to be given to Baby Box.
