Trip down to Newcastle with Mel to see my mum, whose birthday is on Thursday, the day after mine, who was down staying with my sister, Sam, along with my brother, Adam, and niece, Phoebe. Oh, and my Auntie Barbara as well when we went down to the Fish Quay and a rather splendid lunch at Irvins Brasserie (even if the service gradually slowed during the stay).

But this is Meg, who probably took the best portrait of the day.... (and who looked as cute and tiny as this just over a year ago)

Should be an okay week at work coming up (touch wood), just two days, then off on Wednesday, then two days till the weekend. Breaks it up nicely. And fingers and everything else crossed for the weather on Saturday especially, since it's Isle of May boat trip day to go and see some Puffins....
