RIP Issy Miyake.

Heard on the car radio a few days ago that the Japanese designer died aged 84.  Vogue Patterns sometimes featured his designs - this was one I made - they were very different from more conventional styles but by following the instructions they assembled in a logical way with successful results.  When I had my fabric shop my part-time assistant made up every one as soon as they were issued.  I expect she also has kept favourites.  I still have the raincoat - it is all-encompassing and very heavy made in a rain-proofed cotton with full lining.
