The jazz singer
We went to a life celebration this afternoon. The weather was a little breezy, warm and sunny, but the family had been fearing storms so had hired a tent.
We ate sandwiches and cakes and drank wine and tea, there were French, English and Dutch people there, including my ex-hairdresser (who has sold her shop, given up hairdressing and doesn’t even curl her own hair like she used to) she’s in the white T-shirt with the ponytail.
Our friend’s daughter, who is a professional singer, sang a few of her parents favourite songs, such as ‘I love you because’ and ‘the folks who live on the hill’ and did well to get through it as she was so choked up. There wasn’t a dry eye in the tent.
