Rye Harbour
Today started the same way Monday has started for a while - BP at the gym! I'm still enjoying it and its a good way to start the week. Home to pack up a picnic (again) and head for the coast. We decided to make the most of the weather and retirement and enjoy beach days when the weather is hot. We checked the tide times and the wind direction and it was looking good but it was sooooo windy! Despite an umbrella we only lasted an hour or so, which was a disappointment. However on the drive home we decided to investigate the nature reserve at Rye Harbour, and what a lovely surprise it was. Beautiful coastal walks and cycle paths and we promised ourselves a return trip with the bikes, when the weather is a bit cooler (and less windy).
Home for dinner and to start planning menus for visitors on Wednesday. They are both foodies and although OH normal BBQ fare is 'kebabs', I think we need to push the boat out a little bit further! I now have a long list and will go food shopping tomorrow.
The evening turned a bit cooler and now rain is forecast for Wednesday! Typical a whole summer of good weather and rain forecast when we have visitors and would like to sit in the garden. Let's wait and see if they get it wrong (fingers crossed).
