Portland Head Light

This is one of the most photographed light houses in the US. People come from all over to visit the lovely old site. It was commissioned by George Washington in 1790.

This is also on the site of an old fort. Fort Williams, which was used by the military to guard Portland Harbor during WWII.
German U Boats actually came into Portland Harbor.

It was a gorgeous day to be out and about. Spring has Sprung :-)
