Had a very slow start whilst we chatted over croissants, looked for shows to see and flights for D.
Went down to Pleasance to see a woman show, Please feel free to share. Very good - competently acted with lots of energy. Ending was a bit weak but still really enjoyed it. Had lunch at the little French place on Grassmarket. Really tasty food, quick friendly service and a reasonable price. Just what’s needed in August in Edinburgh!
Sadly not enough time to queue for ice cream.
Saw Bloody Elle at the Traverse next. Excellent. Another one woman show- this time singing, playing the guitar and acting. Good blend of humour and pathos too - she packed so much into her 50 minutes . Went for a wander around the craft market and the heavens opened- thunder too! Fortunately we had umbrellas. D had decided to hang around before Salome but my show was later and at Kings so had planned to walk home. I caught a bus instead. Quite a long wait and a slow journey but didn’t care as I was dry(ish). Had a cup of tea and change of clothes and then headed off across the Meadows. It was completely bonkers but very clever in parts and some very skilled movement. Was ready for the end though- 2 hours with no interval! Had a lovely walk home through the Meadows
