Across the Solent

Went to see our friends in the Isle of Wight, they are always so social, so many people in their little town are friends and people are always dropping in. We went for pre lunch drinks at a house which we’d rented before they bought it, back in 2009. The boys were teenagers and R had just learned to drive and they both came with friends.  R and his friends, given my car and the island to explore drove every day to the Crazy Golf at Ryde. One of the best things was this ever changing view of the Solent which was like the most fascinating moving wallpaper. 

We swam before lunch and then sat around chatting before another walk and home on the Hovercraft - lovely day. 

I took the Nigel Slater plum crumble cake which I made with greengages which was delicious and extremely juicy.
