A Monkey's Tale

If You Peas Mr Milne?

My good friend Sam (featured here applying frozen peas to his knobbly knees) was kind enough to put me up for the weekend as I traveled to good old Guilly for a few days of footy, fun, fifa & food.

It was the old boys College of Law team, of which I am a proud member & Sam is honoury member, versus the current College of Law (otherwise known as the University of Law thanks to a recent upgrade) team. Thankfully, the cloud coverage cleared & the rain held off, & we were lucky enough to have a beautiful sunny afternoon to enjoy a competitive, hard-fought but friendly game of football against our younger counterparts. I played centre-back (for the first time ever) & thoroughly enjoyed it - it was a great laugh! It was rather knackering by the end, some fantastic goals were scored (largely by our team) & the game was taken right to wire, only for the current team to narrowly pip us & take the glory with a late game changing goal - foot-balls!

Out team enjoyed a celebratory & very refreshing drink at the Seahorse in Shalford, & after a little match analysis, we all agreed to meet later on in the centre of Guilford for a night out-out.

Sam & I scoffed a fine feast of chips, dips, pizza & garlic bread - it was dough central. And a nap would have been warmly welcomed at this point! Instead we fought back the aches & pains & the night began.

It was a fun day & a great evening out in town with a few of the lads - we enjoyed drinks at a few bars & even managed a boogy on the dance floor before the night was over.

Right, let's book it all again for next year. I'm in!
