60 feet under Manchesters Deansgate

Feeling lethargic, I went on a guided tour of Manchester - Underground.
We are standing in the path of the old Rochdale canal spur which overflowed in to the River Tib (Apparently).
During the Manchester blitz these old tunnels were used as Air Raid Shelters.

There are over 20 miles of streets and tunnels known about and many others that are perhaps only known to urban explorers.

Well worth the trip.
