Procession To The New Gurdwara

We went to the opening of the new Gurdwara (Sikh temple) in Glasgow. There was a huge procession from the old temple to a purpose-built centre.

Alexander loved every minute of it. He had to wear a headscarf and got to sit on Daddy's shoulders, and then he had to take his shoes off and got rained on while we waited to go in. The report says the worship room holds 1000 people, but it was well full by the time we reached the top of the queue. It was a really great atmosphere with lots of friendly people. When we came out, Alexander tried to run back in again.... there was a fire engine outside which he got to sit in; I think it might have been his best day ever. He certainly needed his two-hour nap after lunch.
