under restoration

Trip along the three lochs: Loch Lomond, Gare Loch and Loch Long. Stopped in Kilcreggan for a lifeboat sale and some refreshments. Views of the doom machine at Faslane and past the peace camp. On the way back we stopped at the Shore in Balloch to visit the Maid of the Loch. Since the failed attempt of pulling the steamer out of the water they have now managed using a new cradle. Extensive work is being done replacing the steel plating in the boiler room. The engine (see extra) is working but the boiler is missing. Some parts of the ship have been nicely restored now but there is still huge amounts of work to be done. The weather was absolutely fantastic and people enjoyed going for a swim in Loch Lomond (personally I reckon it's well too cold). I so hope the plan for the Flamingo Land will not happen.
