Physical Graffiti
Another fabulously warm summer’s day. I met the son up town on his break and we sat on the parched grass in the gardens. He wasn’t entirely happy as he’d hoped a meeting that morning would have had a better outcome. It wasn’t bad, but his hopes were maybe unrealistic.
And later, the lads gathered in the Diggers as ever. Alighting from the bus in Dalry Road my eye was caught by the shop signs newly revealed under the paintwork in a couple of units long converted to flats. That seems to be a thing these days. That took me back to my first bike (I’d previously cycled about on a tiny red rattly thing handed down from my sisters). A blue bike with white mudguards bought from this very block in Dalry Road. Though I don’t recall it being J.R.Ross. Ferrer or something. Well, well, well, eh?
