People Power

This morning there was a street working bee to remove three trees from the front of No 5.  Personally I loved the trees but three houses across the street were having their views blocked by the trees.  It is very expensive to have trees  removed so by combining resources the job has been done in three hours and it has brought the neighbours together.  This afternoon we sat out on the street in the sunshine and had a beer.  The opposite neighbours now look over the roof of No 5 and see the Waimea Estuary and the mountains to the south.  The people at No 5 won't have the leaves to sweep up.  My handy autumn leaf photos will be reduced.  The extra is one of the trees in its autumn glory.
