Wonky Hemlock

Our village exploring continued this evening and we found another path round the back of the ruined mansion.  It's not quite Perthshire's big tree country, but there was definitley some similar planting going on.  I blipped a rather impressive Sequoia tree, but this wonky Western Hemlock came out better.

When I worked in a multi-activity centre back when I was 18, we had a rather magnificent Western Hemlock specimen onsite.  We were told that it was a tree with special protected status and that no one was allowed to touch it.  Looking back I think that was just one of the many pranks that got played on new Instructors though I do rememebr being horrified when a group of kids and their teacher went to play in the lower boughs of it...
