Garden rescue

So many plants are struggling.

Yesterday, a friend commented that in the London area even established and sturdy trees and shrubs are dying.

We had rain a little more recently than there, but in the Birmingham area, we’re also having problems.

I have a lovely Spiraea but its leaves were all dying. I have moved it well away from full sun and liberally watered it. In my extra, you can see it looks more promising.

I’ve had no success in rescuing a redcurrant my sister gave me, nor a pretty (and expensive) hydrangea. Harsh times.

For my blip, the new Rozanne that I bought this year in case my older one hadn’t made it. They are in pots, in the shade, waiting until I know where is the safest place to plant them permanently.
