2022 Thursday — French Hospital

We arrived at French Hospital at 3:15 and were making our exit at 6:15. They were very efficient and we experienced no “hurry-up and wait.”

They withdrew 8 viles of blood, did an EKG to check my heart rhythms, inserted an IV before doing a ct scan.

The verdict is that my symptoms are caused by ischemic colitis. The hospital gastroenterologist was called to ask if a colonoscopy should be ordered and the answer was no. They recommended admittance to the hospital for IV fluid hydration and observation. I declined with the promise that I will hydrate well with a clear liquid diet the next several days until my symptoms are gone.

I finally am beginning to feel better, and will feel much better when I can have solid food.
