High Bridge
I had a good, much needed lie-in this morning.
WORK was fine last night. Watan is not sacked - I have no idea how, as if I'd done even part of what he did I'm sure I would have been! Most of the reason I think, is that Hekmat knows his family who are now living in Pakistan, and that they depend quite heavily on money Watan sends back to them. When he sacked Watan before, they really struggled. Also, when he is on his game he probably makes the best fish and chip-shop food of anyone in Lincoln. The standard of cooking went down when he was not here before and takings dropped
He kind-of put the ball in my court as he says that if I refuse to work with him he will sack him, absolving himself of the blame and putting a lot onto my shoulders. I said that it would be fine if he was like he was last night every night. I've been virtually instructed to babysit him, not letting him take money from the till etc.
It seems that Wednesday's shit-show was down to more than just alcohol - part of the problem was a tablet he accepted from a known drug dealer in the belief that it was just a headache tablet... I think it's possible, but not likely that he is that naïve. He remembered most of what had happened but some of it came as a complete surprise to him.
I am very glad I am not there tonight. I'm assuming he will work with Hassan who is only a teenager. I hope he will behave more responsibly around him.
MINSTREL went to the Vets last night, in the capable hands of Brian. The vet could find no serious problems - he does not seem to be in pain, nor running a temperature, and there were no real problems she could find in a thorough investigation. It may be down to the heat.
Nonetheless he has been prescribed a special light diet cat-food and some paste to mix in with it, at great expense of course, and in typical cat style he does not like it! We shall persevere! We are to take him back in a week if there is no improvement. Any advice from fellow cat enthusiasts on how to get him to eat the food/take the paste would be very gratefully received!
TODAY is my day off and I am much ready for it. I've done mostly relaxing things really. I walked into town to look for a blip, and decided I liked this view of the back of High Bridge café on the high Street. I took this from the Wigford Way bridge.
There is rugby league on TV tonight, I will make salad for tea and generally continue to chill out.
