The Highland Cow

I bought this hand coloured magic lantern slide on Ebay because I loved the thought of a big hairy Highland cow cooling itself in a little loch.
When the package arrived I was taken by surprise to find there were 2 slides.
In fact, I was so surprised as I slit the wrapping open that I fumbled them and - with two slides spinning in the air - I only managed to catch one.
This one, the good one of course, smashed on the kitchen floor.
And the cow was shattered as if hit by a marksman's bullet. Nothing worth saving here.
I am gutted, of course.
But I've learned a big lesson and won't do that one again.
