Today's random bizarre local news item was the unique rendition of "Imagine" on the bells in Liverpool Anglican Cathedral at midday. There had been some dispute over the anti-religious message of the song ("imagine there's no heaven" etc) but in the end it was decided that the main emphasis was on Peace, which crosses all religions, and so they gave peace a chance...
The cathedral bells are apparently the largest in the world, so I don't know how easy it is to tinkle out a tune on them; there were a few very long pauses between phrases. I think John would have said WTF? and had a good laugh.
