A Miss Havisham moment!

Another day busy catching up on jobs, like washing and ironing all the traveller’s bed linen and laundering his towels, all very boring so I won’t go into detail. However, I do feel quite satisfied and hopefully will be able to reward myself with some dressmaking or craft-related leisure time soon.

Today’s photo shows our new water butt which, you may remember, was made from an old whisky barrel. It was delivered on 4th July and we haven’t had a drop of rain since that date, and there was very little for some weeks before that as well. As a result it’s starting to look as though it belongs in Miss Havisham’s garden in Great Expectations!
