Holiday - Day Nine

Trip today to visit Scotland's Secret Bunker which is only three miles from where we are staying and was where the country would have been ran from in the event of a nuclear war. Being an ex military person this was right up my street and could have spent more than a day looking around. The picture is of the one hundred and eighty yard corridor that led from the old farmhouse (disguise building) to the entrance to the bunker which is protected by two doors each weighing a ton and a half.

Once inside it opens up a whole new concept of what would have happened and what would have gone on should the cold war have ever erupted and let us be thankful that it did not.

Again another great place to visit but you have to make sure that you have the time to see it all properly.
