Docks & Daffodils
Rumex Obtusifolius, is the correct name for the dock leaf, (not to be mistaken for the larger cow docks as I know them.) This leaf is used in making Dock pudding.
Dock Pudding is a delicacy produced in the North of England, chiefly in the Calder Valley area of West Yorkshire.
Every year around Easter time, is held the 'World Dock Pudding' contest. Which I was lucky to be a judge of in 2009. This year however, it had to be cancelled as the Docks were so late due to the cold weather we've been experiencing.
The blip shows the Docks growing amongst the Daffodils.
