Drive to Corvallis

Grey at the coast - here you see the Siuslaw River - sunny and warm inland.
I so enjoy the drive through this oldfashioned summer landscape, fields and forests alternating, small valleys full of flowers around the fields, small farm houses here and there. The last hay cuts have been done and the hay is stacked up in different ways. Swallows soar through the air, not much traffic on the small roads.
When I was 11 I had a teacher tell us about Oregon, it’s forests and still widely intact nature. I lived in Holland then. I remember thinking then “I want to live in Oregon later.”
Funny how I managed ending up here now….
What a journey have I had…
