Id Parade

Gail and I took a walk around Coombe Abbey this morning. Some time since we have done this - probably eight years or so since the boys wanted to go and play on the playground there. Today was for Gail to try her new walking boots prior to our visit to Dorset late May.

The place has changed enormously over the years. Many of the trees have been thinned out creating much more space under the forest canopy. As a consequence, there are many piles of logs lying around, left I presume to provide habitat to other smaller animals and fungi.

This image is right at the back of the park looking towards the Rolls Royce plant at Ansty. The line of trees on the horizon reminded me of kind of comic police identity lines up you sometimes see on tv. i.e. - all different sizes and heights.

Back home to a bacon butty lunch and then off to Jonathan's last match of the season. As expected, they lost, but despite being in a league well above the quality that the team was left with at the start of the season they have (nearly) all stuck at it and are occasionally showing some improvements. They will be demoted a league, but they should be more able to match the opposition next year.

Now back to watch Arsenal v Man Utd - and it hasn't started well for Man U. But, that's football.
