Bloodfest
Well, the last 24 hours have been interesting. Once the anaesthetic wore off last night, the pain arrived in spite of the painkillers.
That was what I expected. The good news is I slept right through for 8 hours (much more than I usually sleep) and the pain was mostly gone when I woke. I am left with tenderness and a bruised kind of ache.
I believe what they had to do yesterday after clearing out the obvious parts of the tooth was to scrape a layer off my jaw bone to make sure they had removed all of the roots.
Anyway, soft food for the next 7 days. I will have to re-think the menu for the barbecue I have promised Junior for tomorrow. Double burgers for him and a smoothie for me?
I had to go to an ATM today, so grabbed the opportunity for light exercise and walked into the town centre for lunch at the church cafe. They always have soup on the menu, even when it is 25ºc outside. None of the weird foreign muck which you eat cold - good home-made lentil. I was breaking into a sweat as I sat there sipping away.
It was good to see friendly faces too, and talk to a few of them.
The day's other highlight was a long phone call with my friend in Edinburgh. He is a retired dentist, and eager to learn all the gory details about yesterday's bloodfest.
The Blip is the garden in front of the town's library/museum which always looks good, but especially at this time of year.
