St. John the Baptist and the Seven Maccabees

That's the dedication on this delightful little church at Cookbury in North Devon. I was quite taken by the unusual Norman architecture as I passed by today. If you would like to know more about the church or the maccabees you can find out here.

After speaking to my cousin last week to let him know my brother had died he told me he would be bring his caravan to Dulverton on Exmoor this week and he arranged to call on my sister-in-law. I arranged to meet him and his wife there. 

It was good to see him, I've only seen him at funerals over recent years so although sadness was involved, it was good to be able to catch up on things in leisure and we went on to have a meal at the local pub.
