Shotover

It’s a while since I’ve been up to Shotover so unpacked some coffee and breakfast, treats for the pup, and my book and headed up there. It was beautiful and sunny but with plenty of shade. I hiked over to a bench on the far side where I planned to sit and enjoy the view and some quiet time. Unfortunately I’d been beaten to the bench and while I would normally do a loop and return after half an hour and find the bench free, this time it was an extended family that looked to be settled in for the day.

We did a few more hikes around before heading down to Sophie’s for a coffee and catch up with her and Jeremy. It was early afternoon by the time we got back for a snoozy afternoon in the garden.
