Dirty Boy (Day 2650)

A call out first thing this morning meant a trip to town for bits, then out to Birsay to change a kitchen tap in a holiday cottage.
From Birsay to Stromness to make a start on the job which was booked for today. I looked at the job last week and I was pretty sure that the room was going to need some fairly serious joinery work to repair water damage from a leaking shower tray. The plan today was to strip everything out of the room. As suspected, the floor is rotten, and the water damage spreads into the hallway. The timber stud work for the wall is rotten too. The shower room was fitted at the same time as a loft conversion was done, and I have a suspicion that the conversion hasn't been done as well as it should have been. There is just too much movement in the floor for my liking.
With the room all stripped out and everything cleared up, I headed down to meet my beautiful wife at the horses. It appears George has spent his time today squirming around in the mud.
