Grey Heron

Things were a bit chaotic today when I entered the park I thought the young one was waiting for me on top of the dovecote. However as I got closer and was expecting her to swoop down she just stood there. It was then I realised it was the older female. As I passed the dovecote heading for the water she swooped down into the water to be joined by the young one. I was feeding them both when the male landed and was instantly chased off. The crows landed on a wooden carving then came across one at a time to the fence. One took the fish from me the other hopped over and took it from the fence, I saved some fish back and made for the clearing only to find it was the youngest one there. It flew down from a tree as I approached so it got what was left.
The afternoons are normally quieter but not today, the young one and the older female were straight across and I started feeding them, then the male came over and was again chased. I gave the females half the fish and headed for the clearing. As I got close I saw the youngest one flying from the clearing to the centre of the loch. When it saw me it flew straight back. I started feeding it when the male landed and tried to chase the youngest one. It just move a few yards and stayed so I was able to feed them both.....phew
2 extras the female on the dovecote and the two crows on the carving!
