Memories

We said goodbye to my Best Friend’s mum today. The funeral was sad but uplifting: she was 91 and 5 of her children + numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren were there. My friend did so well with the tribute and her older brother spoke movingly at the wake.

There was a huge pile of photos for everyone to rummage through, a real trip down Memory Lane. I asked for one from the time I first met my friend in the mid 80s and was thrilled with this one of her and both her parents when she was bridesmaid at my wedding 36 years ago ( tomorrow!)

Just how I remember her mum and dad when I first met them… my first teaching job was near their home so I’d go round for my tea after school once a week :)a lovely couple.
