More hot weather

Another hot and tiring day - I have had no energy at all to do anything in this heat. I walked Xena in the woods in the shade of the trees, she was also affected by the heat although at one point she ran after a squirrel and when she runs fast her ears turn inside out, as can be seen here! In the extra you can see how brown and dry the grassy area is, while the trees are still green the grass everywhere looks like this.

I had a few errands to do today, I went to the Post Office to send Adam something he had forgotten in Switzerland, bought some birthday cards, and caught up with my personal admin. I also did the ironing and some other household chores.

I would like to go see the movie Where The Crawdads Sing as I loved the book, but we are avoiding indoor places like cinemas as we have to do a Covid pre-test before boarding the boat in 2 weeks time. Very few countries require pre-testing now, but cruise ships still require it. I feel as if life has moved on from Covid, I just hope that things don't go backwards in winter again due to the NHS not being able to cope. It is something we have been living with and it won't disappear, we have to just get on with it.

It is getting even hotter this week, rising to 36C by Saturday. I think I will be staying home for much of it as I find the heat too debilitating.
