Donkey work

This is a rare example of a Menorcan donkey powered well. There are aquifers under Menorca, currently the subject of a replenishment project, that are a source of water. Many houses had and may still have a rainwater collection system that’s very advanced yet very ancient. This house has a cistern that’s replenished by carefully channelled rainwater.
