Strange goings on....

Quite early this morning, I noticed some movement over on the building site. It wasn't the usual Sunday morning activity - bunnies or foxes (that's last Sunday). Rather it was three men and a very long tape measure. You can only see two here because the other one has disappeared into the greenery up against the building opposite which is the storage facility (where we store stuff as it happens). The only explanation I can find is that these are people from the storage facility, who have accessed the site in order to find out whether the foundations are going in where the plans say they should....or whether they are due to build too close to their land. I missed a photo of them measuring at the other end of the building, but the first extra puts their work in a bit of context. You can see that the storage facility doors are open, which never normally happens on a Sunday - it's Monday to Saturday only, and they are measuring along the length of their building. Presumably they are matching up to the plans lodged for the planning permission. We'll watch to see what happens next. After the measuring had finished, the men took a close look at the trees over the other side of the site up against the storage facility site and one of them was gesticulating vigorously and seemingly remonstrating a bit with the others.

As a second extra, I have added a collage of the state of the street art down at the Coalfield hoardings/graffiti wall. We had a good walk down there, and took an early coffee at the Hideout on Constitution Street.

In the afternoon, I did a fair bit of cleaning and tidying, mainly of my study which was badly in need of it. I also got chance to make a bit of progress on The Name of The Rose. Over 70% now...

We've just watched a second film of the weekend on Prime - A Call to Spy. Pretty good, although there are always violent incidents in every film that require me to pull my T-shirt up over my face.... And we've arranged for P and H to come over next week. P and Mr A are going to go and see some theatre, and have some beer. It should be fun.
