Tea rooms open

Heritage railways are getting a hammering just now. The cost of fuel - coal or diesel - has risen, Tryfan laid out the cost of coal in a recent blip. Added to that, the main attraction, steam, doesn't fit well with our current weather. Here in Kent, it's been a very long time since we've had rain and the grass is like tinder. Running a machine that throws out glowing embers is a high-risk strategy and K&ESR are taking steps to ameliorate the risk, they include running the DMU rather than steam.

It was lovely and peaceful there, sitting with my cup of tea and a book, listening to the birds. And then home for the football which City won at a canter
