The abandoned-looking birdshit-encrusted car was eventually taken away, to be almost immediately replaced by more car. Whilst it was difficult to tell as they were half-submerged in leaf litter, the tyres on the kerb side still seemed in oddly-reasonable shape given that there were no clean bits to indicate that someone had popped to pump them up every now and then.
