Mellbreak

Had my first experience of paddle boarding this morning - succeeded in standing up before falling in the River Dee in Chester! Good fun if a little damp!
Getting back on the Wainwright trail we decide on the relatively short and low Mellbreak, although the steep scree looks quite intimidating when we look at it. It’s a great afternoon for walking, and once we get going it’s enjoyable with fabulous views. This blip is taken on the way up with Crummock Water in the Thumbnail and Loweswater straight ahead.
We’ve taken to staying in Whitehaven and the work in the harbour being done earlier this year has been completed so we walk the harbour round as the sun is setting - it’s a beautiful evening
