Brown hairstreak
I had a very successful market today, all sold out! It’s a good thing I made extra ready for tomorrow and the Carnforth Artisan Fair.
We took advantage of being in Arnside to visit the Knot.
We were delighted to find this lovely brown hairstreak feeding on hemp agrimony and keeping still in the cool weather.
Rob hadn’t remembered a spare battery for his camera so I took a couple of this interesting fly for him. They are quite spectacular when observed close up ( see extra ). It’s called the blue winged tachinid, a parasitic fly.
