My Dear Princess and Dear Fellows,

I have a running joke with Ellie. Sometimes she'll tell me she needs to wee really badly. But then she keeps on working. 

So then I channel, "BossyMum" for her.

YOU SHOULD WEE. YOU SHOULD GO FOR A WEE RIGHT NOW. STOP WORKING AND GO FOR A WEE. DID YOU WEE YET?

I do this all the time. She works so hard and gets so stressed.

STOP THAT HUNCHING. I'll say. YOU'RE WORKING TOO HARD. GO AND MAKE YOURSELF A CUP OF TEA. 

"Don't BossyMum me," she protests. But she loves it anyway. I can tell.

I BossyMummed Shenée yesterday as well. She wasn't feeling good. She just found out she can't afford the house she wanted to buy and she was low. So I met up with her and bought her an ice cream and gave her a pep talk. I can't fix things, obviously. But maybe it made her feel a little better to know she has friends.

She and I had planned to put together a gift-pack for Corrie. She is travelling to London on Saturday for the waka ama championships. But obviously, with Shenée feeling low it didn't happen.

So I did it on my own today instead. I didn't really know what to put in there so I played my Useless Man card and got the nice lady in the cosmetics shop to do it all for me. And then I added a bag of gummy dinosaurs and a whio (duck) keyring because I knew it would make Shenée happy. 

Corrie LOVED it. I wrote her a card saying, "We are so incredibly proud of you!" like a proper proud BossyMum. And when I sent Shenée the pictures she texted back THIS MAKES ME SO HAPPY.

I was feeling good about this, but my mood dissipated due to a horrible 2 hour commute home. My spirits were only lifted when this song by Sparks came on.  

Have I nagged you to watch The Sparks Brothers documentary? Me and Caro watched it a couple of months ago and just loved it. 

YOU SHOULD WATCH THE SPARKS BROTHERS. HAVE YOU SEEN THE SPARKS BROTHERS YET. STOP WORKING AND WATCH THE SPARKS BROTHERS.

Sorry. It can be hard to turn BossyMum off.
