Cottonopolis

In the distance.
We walked up to Lyme Park on a splendid blue sky day, with stunning views of Manchester in the far distance, and the Cheshire plain. In the 19th Century Manchester was nicknamed Cottonopolis because of the number of cotton mills. Not much sign of them now.
