Ambleside

Our checkpoint was Ambleside. A lot of the checkpoints do fancy dress and we had a circus theme. We started at 9am and thousands of sandwiches were made, we set up the water/coke/biscuits/jelly babies etc. the front runners came through around 11am and it got steadily busier and more manic. Our team was fab and like a slick machine we got runners fed, watered and back on their way. Some needed a bit of kindness and cajoling and others needed a bit more tough love to get them back out there. The checkpoint closed at 4am and at 7.30am we had finally got everything packed up, tidied up and the hall looking as if we had never been there.
