Isolation

On Monday I will be in hospital (out patient) so that the surgeon can remove the debris of my failed wisdom tooth. 

Between now and then I am taking extra care to try to avoid catching The Virus, which does not mean I am in isolation, but does mean I am postponing any activity which might be a bit higher risk - if it can be done next week, so much the better.

It is making life a little tedious of course, but in a good cause. The surgeon must be relatively safe even although he will be spending time right up close to my mouth, because I know he had The Virus last month. However, they have been treating me as an urgent case (my first specialist appointment was only 5 weeks ago, and we lost a week or two when the surgeon was unavailable) so I would hate to have to miss it. 

Today's risky activity was limited to walking to the church cafe for lunch. Fortunately it was quiet - see the Blip. 

Interestingly, taking extra care like this does just highlight to me how little care other people are taking. 

Reykjavík Grapevine is one of the things I look at occasionally to find out what is going on in the wider world, and on Tuesday's edition Valur was predicting a new volcanic eruption very soon.
