Festival of the spoken nerd

Got a text from some friends to say that they had a spare ticket for Festival of the spoken nerd after work. We met up at a vegetarian Indian restaurant and had a great meal before the show.

The show was all science-based. It started with a demonstration of how to make a computer using tumbling dominoes laid out in patterns and included playing pong with glowsticks, songs about maths, live programming and dissection of a 1980s speaking toy. All good fun and a really interesting night out. The picture shows us using our glowsticks to create a computerised firework display.

Good to catch up with former colleagues too.
