Day 2 of holiday - memorial

Settled into our apartment in Dinant and went out exploring, ended up walking a reasonable distance on a hot sunny day. Up one bank of the river, over the lock and back down the other side with plenty of stops for refreshments and photos. The main photo is looking out from the inside of the impressive memorial erected to remember 674 civilians killed by German troops in 1914.

The extra gives a good view of the fort, main church and bridge from Maison Leffe the home of one of Belgium's best known beers.
