Beach!

So far, we have visited the beach at Pounta, which seemed a bit touristy, tbh, but all of our other swims have been here, at the far end of the beach at the foot of the mountain, below the village.

This was only our third full day here, but we seem to have settled into a nice routine of taking a swim after we've had coffee in the morning, and then again in the early evening.

As the sea here is not tidal* it's been possible for someone to clear a lot of larger stones, and make a pebbled path from the shore into the water, which runs until you're about waist deep and at which point you can dive in. And that's no great shock to the system; the water is warm until you get out a bit further and dive down to the bottom.

The sea is, in fact, the Gulf Of Corinth, which is, in effect, an enormous lagoon, even though the man-made canal at the south-eastern corner means that there is now an exit. I suspect that this accounts for the extra salty water and that that, in turn, explains why there is not much in the way of sea life.

*Non-tidal, as far as I know, is not actually a thing. It just means the difference between high and low tide is very little, less than a metre.
