Mellow yellow
We humans have eyes that can detect just a portion of the wavelengths of radiation that illuminate our world. Today the colour yellow.
The photograph is of the remains a WW2 building associated with the LORAN station atop the cliffs at Port Erroll. LORAN, short for long range navigation, was a hyperbolic radio navigation system for ships and aircraft.
The yellow flowers are mouse eared hawk weed; the orange splashes on the walls are lichens; the grasses are very dry and have taken on a yellow hue.
Mellow Yellow is the title of a song written and recorded by Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan and released in 1966. It is also a slang term for the psychedelic drug LSD.
