Super Sunday

Sunday
At last we had our over night stay in Aviemore after a delay because of Covid and bad weather.
We headed to Loch Garten first to see the Osprey, Free entry using our RSPB passes.A beautiful sunny warm day. The Heather is starting to come out. Lots of chaffinch and great tits at the feeding stations, including a few siskins and three Great spotted woodpeckers. We could see the Osprey on the huge nest from the visitor centre. They have a webcam close to the nest so you can see all the action close up.There are two young , about 7 weeks old and about to fledge. I could see them stretching their wings.Incredible how much they have grown.
A red squirrel was on the feeder so it was lovely to watch it for a while.
Also saw a wonderful lizard running amongst the Heather.
On to Uath lochans. Stunning with the cloudy sky and reflections in the still water. A lovely walk round spotting lots of damselflies and a few dragonflies to fast to id.
We needed something to eat so went in search for somewhere that did not look too busy.We ended up at Lossiemouth Golf Club, ideal :)
We sat outside of the old clubhouse looking out to the greens and I enjoyed soup with garlic bread and a prawn cocktail, Mike had a steak pie.
Went to Aviemore and had a Turkish delight gelato from Mieles , delicious.
Turned the footie on the phone and saw the first England goal. Checked into the Premier Inn ( it would have been a brand new building when we first booked ) and watched the end of the football. Well done to the Lioness , what a great achievement :)
